Cordial Cares creates tailored philanthropic opportunities to ensure we are as cordial to our communities in need as we are to one another. From outreach within our community schools, to local beach cleanups and contributing to the San Diego Food Bank, to giving back abroad with Bali-based Stella’s Child—it’s all part of our mission to send a better message.
We teamed up with Nipomo High School, a rural Title 1 high school in central California, to fill a library of 68 books centering stories of resilience and achievement, featuring diverse characters who have been long underrepresented in the school's curriculum. We hope these books will encourage current students at NHS to keep pursuing their academic dreams, and inspire many years of students to come.
Founded in 2013, Stella’s Child exists to support Indonesian youths from disadvantaged backgrounds as they prepare to leave children's homes and orphanages and enter the world of work. They equip youths, aged 4-19, with the skills they need to succeed in life and break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their families. The Cordial product and engineering team visited Stella's Child and spent a day helping out and working with the children.
San Diego is the 8th largest city in the United States, but 4th largest for homelessness. Each night, there are 10,000 men, women, and children without a place to call home in our city. At the San Diego Rescue Mission, their goal is to get people off the streets permanently. Through Cordial Cares, our team members spent time serving warm meals to the homeless at one of their facilities in downtown San Diego.

Since the "Add a Dollar, Plant a Tree" program began, Eddie Bauer has collected nearly $5 million. Our partnership with American Forests has created the most successful reforestation project by a non-forest-related business in the United States and has helped fund the planting of 2,000,000 trees for Mountains to Sound Greenway near Seattle, WA. Eddie Bauer also collected $500,000 to help fund the "Memorial Groves" program, which planted a tree in honor of every victim of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
